St Catherine’s School
IID Architects
Located within this renowned and prestigious girls’ school, Feltham Construction was contracted to develop multi-discipline facilities within a single complex without inhibiting the school’s ability to operate normally.
Facilities include:
The performing arts facilities were constructed to the highest acoustic and sound standards, sufficient to facilitate outside commercial broadcasts, such as BBC’s Question Time programme.
The complex houses two extensive plant rooms - one serving the sports complex, the other serving the performing art facilities. In all, there are fourteen air handling units along with a combined heat and power unit and conventional heat generating facilities.
An extremely high water table necessitated the installation of secant piles together with a dewatering scheme to enable the watertight basement to be constructed within the subsequent excavation.
