Overview

Built to provide high-quality, assisted living spaces for older people needing additional care, Patching Lodge offers 76 self-contained flats with communal facilities on the edge of Brighton. Featuring a sto-rendered and brick exterior, this seven-storey high-rise building has been constructed under the Framework Agreement. Offering apartments for rent or sale, the development has been supported and part-funded by the Department of Health as part of their drive for innovative retirement housing for the future. Built on the site of a block of flats, which needed to be demolished, the property is of a lightweight structure with a concrete frame. The retirement complex offers residents a range of in-house facilities, including a cinema, a hairdressers and a doctor’s surgery plus the reassurance of on-site care staff. Managed by Hanover Housing Association, Patching Lodge is the latest of a number of key projects carried out for this major client in recent years.
