Overview
Energy efficiency and protecting the environment were at the heart of this major refurbishment project on a housing development in Reading, managed by Sanctuary Housing Association. 140 individual homes with minimal insulation have been substantially upgraded to significantly improve their energy ratings. Doors and windows have been replaced, heating systems with condensing boilers have been installed and roofs and walls have been properly insulated. The project was managed in such a way that residents could continue to live in their properties as normal while the upgrade work was taking place.
