Overview
A brand new state-of-the-art library and six self-contained, warden-assisted flats have been built on the site of the former library in this suburb of Brighton. The project is part of a major regeneration of council-owned land and property, with the aim of providing new, modern community facilities. The original library has been completely demolished and a new building, featuring a ground floor library with six flats above, has been constructed. The new library is being managed by the local authority and is for public use, whilst the accommodation above is being rented by Hanover Housing Association and offers people in retirement their own individual living space plus additional care and support.
