Overview
Opened by HRH the Duchess of Gloucester, this performing arts and music school is a feature of the sixth form college campus. The two-storey building features a striking, curved, flowing design, with a circular metal staircase, a curved roof structure, steel roof beams and glass balustrading which overlooks the entrance foyer. The spacious interior encompasses a theatre, recording studios and classrooms which have all been developed with careful attention to acoustics. With the use of sound engineering, including concrete-filled cavity walls and wall-mounted baffles, the building has been optimised to perfectly meet the needs of the students and orchestras that perform within it.
