Overview
Winning the RIBA South Conservation Award for regeneration, this former early twentieth century mail storage building in Oxford city centre has been transformed into a state-of-the-art IT suite for a prestigious local book publisher. Both the structure and the majority of the original walls have been retained to conserve the character of the building. Its feature roof, with northlight steel trusses and patent glazing to the steeper north-facing roof pitches, gives the building a light, airy feel. This is complemented by the fully-glazed extension with roof terrace and glass balustrade, giving a contemporary look to this former industrial unit.
